March Book Preview

Here is what I’ve got in the queue for March!

The Little Book of Feminist Saints by Julia Pierpont (March 6)

This came across my path around the time that the #metoo movement was getting started and a lot of allegations of sexual misconduct were coming to the forefront. It was (and still is) a sad time on that front. When I saw this I knew I wanted to read it. First, because it looked cool. And second, I felt like I needed a bit of inspiration from the sisterhood.

Also, how could you not want to read it – the cover is so cool.

Hot Mess by Emily Belden (March 20)
As is sometimes my way, I requested this book solely on the cover. It looks like something I would definitely pick up and read. Also, I knew that February/March was going to be a bit of a hectic and stressful time for me, so I wanted to get some books that were low key and low maintenance. I thought this would fit the bill.
Honestly, I didn’t read the overview so I had no idea what the book was about.
#spoileralert: I actually just finished it and I was pleasantly surprised. You will have to wait to hear more when I post my review.
Tangerine: A Novel by Christine Mangan (March 27)
I was reading an article on ‘the most anticipated books of the spring’ and this came up. I was like what the heck!
I actually just started this one, and am about 20% of the way through. So far I like it. It’s a bit of a slow burn of a novel – feels kind of film noir-ish in a way.
I am interested to see how much I like it and very interested to see how the story develops.

The Little Perfume Shop Off The Champs-Élysées by Rebecca Raisin (March 30)

As mentioned, February/March is a bit of a stressful time, so I was seeking out easy and fun reads. This fits the bill – as you can see from the cover.

Also, I am a sucker for anything that is set in Paris!

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle (I bought it!)

No, I’ve never read A Wrinkle in Time. (I know!) With the movie coming out and all the buzz about it, I wanted to sneak it in before it got spoiled for me.

So that is is my current queue for March. The good news (for me at least) is that I have some time on my hands coming up. I am hoping that I can throw a couple other books in the mix for March – but I don’t want to over-promise and under-deliver.

Happy reading nerds!
